Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Wonderful large shrub that can be pruned into a small tree, to 8-10' or more. Narrow, evergreen leaves and, believe it or not, attractive green branches and spines. Fragrant flowers produced in spring and summer become small orange ...uh... oranges that are a bit bitter for eating out of hand but fine made into juices in times of famine. Really, we grow it for the look. Sun to dappled shade. Has survived temperatures below 0 °F. We consider it hardy to the 10 °F, USDA zone 8, range if water has been withheld in autumn for hardening.
