Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Cobalt-blue flowers and glistening, wrinkled, fine foliage, 'Centennial' is tolerant of light shade and prefers well-drained soil; 2 feet tall, spreading, and hugging the ground, suppresses weeds.
Centennial is an evergreen low-spreading groundcover growing 6 to 12 inches tall by 4 to 8 feet wide. Centennial spreads quickly producing a 4-8' ground cover within 2 years. The tiny, dark green leaves have a glossy surface that gives a polished backdrop to the intensely blue, button-like flower clusters in spring. Plants accept considerable shade and are effective groundcovers at the outer edges of a live oak canopy. Also useful spilling down slopes or cascading over the edge of a decorative pot. Drought tolerant once established but best with occasional water. Provides nectar for bees and butterflies. This selection is a natural hybrid of Ceanothus foliosos and C. thyrsiflorus var. griseus.
Superb, ground covering Ceanothus, a hybrid between C. griseus and C. foliosus. A UC Berkeley selection by Roger Raiche, this tiny leaved, dark blue flowered, evergreen shrub rarely exceeds 2' in height, though spreads out to 6' or more. Full sun with little or no summer once established. Frost hardy to USDA zone 8.
