Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Acoelorrhaphe wrightii is commonly known as the Everglades Palm, Paurotis Palm, and Silver Saw Palm. It is a slow growing, clustering or clumping species of palm as seen from the pictures. This palm is a fan type with silvery undersides to the fan and will be armed (with thorns) as it matures. It's at home in a moist but well drained soil and is rated to USDA hardiness zone 9 but I grow these in an 8B.
A cold hardy palm good to Zone 9. Clumping fan palm 10 to 15 ft tall with 4" trunks. It grows in S. Florida and can grow in damp soil conditions. Beautiful when stems are trimmed. To see a photo of a mature Acoelorrhaphe wrightii go to http://www.pacsoa.org.au/palms/Acoelorrhaphe/wrightii.html

Clumping palm, to 30' tall at maturity, with leaves that are green above and silver beneath. Can make a hedge or barrier if suckers are allowed to grow to form a thicket. Best in full sun and lots of heat -- think south wall -- with some summer water. Tolerates very wet areas. Frost hardy to the low teens, lower USDA zone 8.
