Red-tinged new growth is beautiful in spring before the foliage deepens to dark-green for summer. Fiery orange-red fall color and wonderful peeling cinnamon colored bark. This mildew-resistant cultivar from the National Arboretum in Washington D.C. is a real winner! S/M

    I have four of these planted on the south side of my house because they are always beautiful. In summer the flowers are dark pink and heavy; in fall the glossy small leaves turn scarlet, and in winter I can enjoy the trunk which is smooth and mottled pink. zone 6
