Exquisite deep coral-pink flowers bloom for weeks on this lovely small 15-20' multi-trunked tree/shrub. Red-tinged new growth is beautiful in spring before the foliage deepens to dark-green for summer. Fiery orange-red fall color and wonderful peeling cinnamon colored bark. This mildew-resistant cultivar from the National Arboretum in Washington D.C. is a real winner! S/M

I have four of these planted on the south side of my house because they are always beautiful. In summer the flowers are dark pink and heavy; in fall the glossy small leaves turn scarlet, and in winter I can enjoy the trunk which is smooth and mottled pink. zone 6
Dark coral pink. Intense and long lasting blooms. What a delight to see these fresh blooms in late summer when the rest of the garden is quieting down.

A cross between L. indica and L. fauriei, this small, upright tree, to 20' tall x 10' wide, has exfoliating cinnamon bark, curly, coral-pink flowers in late summer, and red to orange fall color. Excellent as a street tree. Full sun, good drainage and some summer water for best bloom. Frost hardy in USDA zone 7.
