Good foundation plant or accent for the garden. Evergreen shrub, to 3-5' tall x 3' wide but easily trimmed, with small, holly-like leaves, dark green and shiny, contrasting with the reddish brown stems. Spring flowers are light yellow and large, nearly 1" across; autumn berries are blue-black as the common name suggest. Easy in sun to light shade with some summer water. Frost hardy to 0 °F, USDA zone 7.
