Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Similar when young in color and shape to Carex buchananii, but easily distinguished with time by its more trailing, decumbent habit. Evergreen, this is a handsome sedge to combine with silver-leafed plants such as Artemisia or Achillea.
Another lovely carex, this with red tints in the long, grassy foliage. Forms clumps to 3' in diameter or so in full sun to part shade with regular summer water. These are not drought tolerant creatures. Best at the edge of a bed, the edge of a wall or in a container where its draping, sweeping form is best displayed. Frost hardy in USDA zone 7.
