Nursery contributed plant descriptions

This wonderful dwarf variety typically reaches 3' tall and 5'wide, developed in Canada for improved cold tolerance. The pretty foliage is green-tinged-purple and gives some color to the garden all season long. In early summer this shrub produces a profusion of lightly fragrant, hot-pink flowers with a yellow throat; the bright blooms will then return sporadically throughout the summer. This is a great choice for pollinators as it is much loved by hummingbirds and butterflies. S/M
Deciduous, compact, mounding shrub that flowers profusely from April to June. Fragrant flowers are rosy-pink with a ruby-red exterior, purple lobes and a yellow throat. Foliage is green with a purplish cast. Prune immediately after flowering to shape. Excellent choice for an accent plant or low shrub border. Growth Rate medium
This small, deciduous shrub is a hummingbird magnet in late spring and early summer when covered with clusters of ruby-red flowers that stand out against the purple-tinged, green leaves. A dwarf form of an old-fashioned garden stalwart, at only 3' tall and wide, 'Minuet' fits easily into any garden in full sun to part shade with regular summer water. Frost hardy to -20 °F, USDA zone 5.
