Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Mars Midget' is a dwarf, clump-forming seed strain of this species that has the same scabiosa-like, ruby-red flower heads (to two inches across) over a long early summer to autumn bloom period but on plants that are half the height of the species (about one and a half feet). Each flower head resembles a rich red, pin cushion atop generally leafless stems. Photo courtesy of Walters Gardens.
