A blue-green, upright conical White Cedar also know as 'Rubicon'. Winter color is a deep plum color.
The lovely soft blue-green foliage of this compact, somewhat columnar (to 8't x 4'w) shrub turns a striking plum in winter; handsome in all seasons as hedge or specimen. S-PSh/M
Dense growing, upright conifer with soft gray-green, crinkled foliage. Develops a red cast in winter. Found by H.J. Welch at Tennessee Valley Nursery.
Chamaecyparis thyoides 'Red Star' - A dwarf form of White Atlantic Cedar. A very upright dense plant with juvenile star like foliage. Plant turns purple in winter. Usually needs no pruning at all for a very nice plant. Found at Tennessee Valley Nursery by H.J. Welch.
By far my favorite thyoides, with very unusual dense juvenile foliage. It is the quintessential great looking, crappy growing clone, notorious for dropping dead at the slightest disturbance.
Red Star is one of the strongest growing plants in this group, 4-5? after 10 years and eventually reaching 15-20? tall in 25 years. The habit is columnar and dense with a bluish-green color in summer, turning plum-purple in cold weather. The leaves retain a juvenile form and are soft and feathery.

Soft, gray-green foliage gets a burgundy cast in winter then returns to it's cooler summer color in spring. A cousin to Heatherbun but with distinctly different foliage. Extremely rare and new to the trade. Compact dense form. One of the few Native conifers, it helps bring biodiversity back to screens and hedges. Needs good sun for best performance.

This cultivar grows in a columnar form. Soft, fluffy branches hold dark green needles in summer that turn purple in winter. Grows 1-3" per year. Perfect to fit in an empty garden space.

A small evergreen with a columnar habit, to about 4-5' tall x 1.5' wide in 10 years, eventually 15-20' tall and narrow. The cultivar name 'Red Star' refers to the dense and delicate, star-shaped, blue-green foliage that turns to a rich, warm purple-red in winter light. Sun for best color or part shade with lean, well-drained soil and regular summer water. Frost hardy in USDA zone 5.
