One of the finest golden-leaved shrubs, this colorful (8-10') Elder has beautiful deeply-cut leaves, golden-yellow in sun/a pretty lime-green in shade; similar to Salix ?Plumosa Aurea? but less inclined to burn in sun. S-PSh/M-W
Cluster of fragrant creamy white star shaped flowers decorate the delicate golden fern like foliage. Clusters of red berries in fall.
Springtime layers of finely dissected golden foliage attire this award-winning multistemmed Sambucus. More resistant to sun scorch than other yellow-leafed Elderberry cultivars, the delicate looking ferny leaves emerge in copper-hued shades and slowly develop a refreshing lime-green cast during the warmer months. Favoring judicious pruning, adequately moist soil and bright partial shade, its graceful visage is further enhanced by conical racemes of creamy white flowers and glossy red fruit that birds adore.
Cut-leafed golden foliage make this 8' shrub look lacy and delicate. Zone 5.

Conical clusters of creamy white flowers are followed by red, glossy fruit. The deeply cut, bronze young leaves mature to golden yellow with better ability to stand up to sun scorch than other gold forms. The arching stems of this Elder makes a riveting specimen. Like a gold Japanese maple! US Native Plant.

A truly gorgeous elderberry with finely cut, ferny leaves that emerge coppery bronze in spring becoming golden with age! Flat umbrels of white flowers appear in late spring to early summer and, in autumn, produce red berries -- delicious in syrup or left for the birds. A large, deciduous shrub, to 8-10' tall and wide, but easily pruned back in spring to maintain a smaller size. Part shade for best foliage color and consistent summer water for health. Frost hardy to -30 °F, USDA zone 4.
