?A first rate shrubby plant? (G. S. Thomas), from a woody base it forms a 24" x 36" billowy mound of beautiful silvery filigree foliage. S/M-D/GDr
Silvery gray softly textured evergreen foliage on this naturally mounding shrub-like perennial make it a standout in the garden or in containers. Powis Castle is a reliable and award winning perennial with excellent pest and disease resistance in well-drained soils. Excellent heat and drought tolerance once established. Powis Castle Artemesia comes highly recommended by UGA's Alan Armitage and has won the Royal Horticulture Societies Award of Garden Merit.
A low spreading shrub. The best of the silver plants, finely dissected silver foliage forms dense weed suppressing mounds. Non flowering. Fantastic as an edging for garden beds, drives or paths in full sun. Try planting with Geranium incanum for a little added colour.

This hybrid import from Powis in Wales has become a staple in California gardens. It features dissected, silvery leaves on?billowing plants to 4'?or more. Plants can (and should be) cut back to the ground every year or two to maintain vigor. A strong, dependable selection that complements many colors, offering a strong background for brightly-colored flowers or foliage. Similar to the feathery Artemisia arborescens. Best in full sun with well-drained soils and tough enough for hot, dry banks. Hardy to 10F. Garden origin.
Finely divided and feathery foliage. Silvery Grey aromatic foliage and fragrant blooms. Grows to 24-30" in sun to part shade. Hardy to zones 5-9. Drought tolerant, deer resistant.
Powis Castle is highly praised for the silvery color of its lacy fern-like leaves. Beautiful for contrast and backgrounds with other perennials and shrubs. Leaves have a camphor like fragrance when crushed. Grows about 24" tall and spreading. Cut back to new buds occasionally to refresh foliage.
