Zn 4. Dark fern-like foliage. Soft blue flowers.
Typical polemonium, but with the twist of really quite striking purple-flushed foliage, complimented nicely by the abundant lavender-purple flowers in midsummer. The foliage color is most intense in early spring, and will green out in deep shade. Quite a striking way to set off white or yellow variegated hostas. Zone 5 - Joseph
A lovely Jacob's ladder with fern-like foliage with maroon and bronzy overtones and clusters of blue to purple flowers on tall stems to 20" tall. Yum! Sun to part shade; the foliage turning greener in shade and remaining more colorful in sun. Good garden soil and regular summer water. Frost hardy in USDA zone 3.
