This low, flat perennial looks like a golden carpet with all year color. Tiny white flowers about one sixteenth inch wide bloom in summer are shown in photo with 3 inch figure. Grown for its dense, mounded, bright gold to chartreuse green foliage than can form a soft, mossy carpet. Makes a nice groundcover in small areas and can be planted between pavers. Full sun to part shade. Small, white, star-like flowers in spring. Who knew this was in the pink family and related to Dianthus and carnations? I didn't until I wrote this description!
This lovely groundcover likes a fair amount of sun and average moisture. It will be covered with the most delicate tiny white flowers in spring and sporadically throughout the summer. An evergreen, it is slow spreading and perfect for the rock garden or between stepping stones on a path.
