Nursery contributed plant descriptions

A vibrant carousel of color and a neat compact visage earned this popular Sedum the RHS Garden Merit award in 2006 and a place in our border. Flashy cardinal-hued arching stems and notched blue-green succulent leaves with purple tinges elevate pale rosy buds and bright pink clustered flowers, which age to a dark ruby red. Let 'Red Cauli' festoon a patio container or a pathway's edge, accompanying other late blooming companions such as Salvia reptans West Texas Form and Calamagrostis foliosa.
Probably the most vibrant red of what I've seen, 'Red Cauli' establishes a presence in the late summer garden with deep red-pink blooms. 16" tall.
New and must-have perennial! The flowers are bright red -- like red cauliflower (think butterflies and hummingbirds), striking against the blue-green-tinted-purple, succulent foliage. To 12-18" tall x 12" wide over time. Likes sun to part shade and hot dry conditions; also accepts moisture and heat with humidity. Deer resistant as well. Use as a groundcover or in container. Dies back, returning in spring. Frost hardy in USDA zone 3, -40F!
