This South African plant with muted lavender-pink petals and yellow-green corona -- a tiny little crown in the middle--blooms delightfully from May onward in umbels of 6-7 flowers. With a heavy scent of cloves, particularly in evening, you'll be very happy that it reblooms! Enjoys marshy habitats. Exquisite and rare. 1 foot tall. Minimum temperature: 10° F
18" tall with sweet scented violet blue flowers, from South Africa, probably safest in the alpine house. We have not yet tried them outside but with South African stuff you never know, some prove completely hardy others turn to mush.
