Heat tolerant! Known as lady's Eardrops in the late Victorian era, when glasshouses were full of newly discovered tender plants from the tropics. A collector's favorite of the era, as over 1500 cultivars were available. We offer the lovely coral-red flowered form with bronze foliage introduced in 1905. It blooms summer to fall, given plenty of water and fertilizer. An upright grower.
A spreading, shrubby plant 2-3' tall. The leaves are dark bronze, tinged red above and purplish beneath. Plants are covered with drooping clusters of intense, orange-red, long-tubed flowers and bloom all year in mild climates. Somewhat more frost tender than most fuchsia hybrids, but also more tolerant of heat.
2" deep orange drooping tubular blooms are held above and among the dark maroon foliage from spring til fall. A great choice for Hummingbirds and one of the few Fuschia's which are able to withstand a Louisiana summer. Provide good drainage and do not overwater during the heat of the summer.
A heat tolerant upright variety with dark bronzy leaves that are purple underneath. Small brick red flowers with long pendular tubes attract hummingbirds. Likes shade to morning sun. Hardy zone 9-11
Most Fuchsia call it quits when summer heat rolls in, but not 'Gartenmeister'. This showy long blooming Fuchsia has wine tinted foliage which is a good foil for the long tubular orange-red flowers. Plants have a bushy habit, growing 18-24" and wide.
A hummingbird favorite, this tender perennial has an upright stature, rising to 3' and copious amounts of long, tubular flowers which I describe as 'blood orange coral', summer thru fall. The flower color is quite delectable against the bronze red leaves…give this fuchsia a full morning's sun for best flowering. Prefers humus enriched, well drained soils and containerizes well. Like most fuchsias, these are hungry plants and like to be fed frequently! We overwinter in a greenhouse kept just above freezing.
