3-4" tall and spreading to about 3', this is our cutest, elfin cotoneaster! Teeny, tiny leaves are very congested along the low, arching, rock hugging branches. The evergreen leaves are the deepest seaweed green. Tiny white flowers are followed by red munchkin berries and the new stems are red in color. Such an appealing plant!! Perfect snaking over a rock wall; stunning cascading over the edges of a tall pot; fantastic ground cover at border edge…how about bonsai?? Sun to Lt. shade. Easy, year round beauty!
Reaching 3-4 inches high on its own this wonderful Cotoneaster will crawl up and over rocks or hug close to a bank wall. Tiny white flowers in spring are followed by tiny red berries. A diminutive plant all the way around and a great rock garden selection. Even moisture with well-drained soil. Filtered to full sun.
Call this Cotton Easter and it will eat your garden; hell Coopers hawks could hunt the Easter Bunny from this one; a huge deciduous species from Bhutan that can reach 20', and rather quickly (we must have the dwarf form), with blackish red fruits, ours has stayed less than 18? so far.
A very low growing cotoneaster that will mound up to about 3-4 inches tall. If a rock is in the way C. cooperi will follow the shape of the stone. The evergreen leaves are really tiny and deep green. Great as a container plant or even the smallest rock garden. The white flowers will be followed by rich red fruit like rubies among the green foliage.
