The classic early flowering bulbous Corydalis, it spends a great deal of time dormant but is incredibly showy when in flower, the tubers slowly multiplying by splitting in half, flowers can be anything from purple to red; these are un-flowered seedlings. ZONE 4
A woodlander with 6-10" mounds of ferny foliage resembling Bleeding Heart, to which it is related…clusters of purplish-red flowers crown the leaves in April and are very showy! Culture is the same as Bleeding Heart, part shade, moist organic soil; grow with ferns, columbine, and bleeding heart…typical woodland companions.
