Extremely popular dwarf conifer that is quite hard to find – my local deer herd decided to turn my garden specimen into confetti – these offerings are the confetti that rooted after the massacre! BEAUTIFUL, symmetrical column of blue, dense, narrow – about 3" a year - mine was about 5' tall and 8" wide – specimen quality – sun to very light shade – and please, no angry deer!
Dwarf, narrow cone of blue grey juvenile foliage. Very tight, compact habit, combined with an extremely slow growth rate, makes this an excellent candidate for containers or rock gardens. Must have well-drained soil.
Chamaecyparis lawsoniana 'Ellwood's Pillar' A dwarf columnar variety of Port Orford Cedar. This may have been a sport off of 'Ellwoodii'. Color is a blue-gray of juvenile foliage. Very compact, not loose. Most of the time you can not distinguish indiviual branches. Grows 2" to 4" a year.
A dense slow growing upright column, Brigitta had this in a trough and it was spectacular, of course she croaked it but that's a different story.
DWARF. This is a densely foliaged, pyramidally upright tree. This plant would make a great patio plant, as it has a growth rate of 2-4" a year and will be 6' at maturity.
