Carex morrowii 'Ice Dance' is a useful and beautiful sedge with broad green leaves edged with creamy white forming low, slowly spreading mounds. Evergreen in coastal BC. Semi-evergreen elsewhere. Shear hard or give a hair cut with scissors in early spring to clean up after winter. Plant in fertile, evenly moist soil. Also great in containers. Photo courtesy of Walters Gardens.

Shiny strong foliage (to 12" x 12") with a brighter variegation (than C. m. Variegata) make this vigorous, even drought tolerant, grass an exciting groundcover. Sh-PSh/M-W

Award winning foliage plant, this sedge is a spreader and will decorate and light up your woodland floor! With bright white edged leaves to 12" tall, this moderate spreader will grow even under 'less than ideal' conditions – it will compete with tree roots as long as there is sufficient moisture in part sun to shady environments. We grow it with our hellebores, acanthus, larger hostas and ferns. Moist to wet soils, also nice at pond edge! Mostly evergreen. Deer proof.

Carex morrowii ‘Ice Dance’ is an ornamental grass displaying arching dark green leaves with narrow creamy edges. Deer resistant. Ornamental Grasses are low maintenance and grow well in most soil types. They look beautiful, adding color, height, and movement to your garden. Japanese Sedge is an excellent companion plant with contrasting foliage.

Small, dense, evergreen spreading sedge with green foliage edged in white. Leaves are about 1/2" wide. Great choice for an accent plant in the garden.

Introduced by Barry Yinger, long-lived 'Ice Dance' comes to us from the woodlands flanking Japan's low-lying mountains. Dark emerald in color, the reflexed, leathery leaves are shiny and heightened by creamy white margins. This tidy evergreen ground cover is not invasive; its spreading rhizomes form a coarsely textured carpet that is somewhat drought tolerant once established.

The fine and graceful grasslike blades of this slowly rhizomatous, clumping sedge are lined with a narrow cream-colored margin that contrasts nicely against ferns and green-leafed Heucheras. Use in a wide range of soil types with regular garden water. The small drift in our garden has proven remarkably durable and tolerant of dry conditions. Plants grow to 12? tall and are pleasantly widespread, though not invasive.

Green and light gold liriope-like foliage. Evergreen here. Great groundcover as it is moderately fast growing. Likes light shade.
