Carex 'Ice Dance' is a fast-growing semi-evergreen perennial grass (or grassy in appearance) with green, variegated and white foliage. In spring and summer chocolate flowers emerge. Features grassy texture. Grows well with mostly sun - shade and even moisture - regular water. Adapts to various soil conditions. Does well in average, rich and well-drained soil. A good option if you're seeking something verticillium wilt resistant.

Introduced by Barry Yinger, long-lived 'Ice Dance' comes to us from the woodlands flanking Japan's low-lying mountains. Dark emerald in color, the reflexed, leathery leaves are shiny and heightened by creamy white margins. This tidy evergreen ground cover is not invasive; its spreading rhizomes form a coarsely textured carpet that is somewhat drought tolerant once established.
