HUGE 2 1/2" purple bells on sturdy well-branched 2' stems make this moderate spreader (not a runner) a real standout in the summer garden; cut them for a bouquet and they will rebloom well, as well! S/M
Fantastic new bellflower cross (C. punctata x C. trachelium)! Luxurious deep green foliage, 18" tall and slowly spreading via underground rhizomes – dark buds (almost black) unfurl into giant (2 ½") bell shaped blooms of luscious grape purple that keep coming all summer if old flowers are removed. Prefers fertile, moist soil and sun to part shade. When this beauty is in bloom, no one sees anything else! A Secret Garden Rave.
This is a fragrant and floriferous bellflower with dark purple-blue bell-shaped flowers on branching stems. Vigorous growing but slow to spread. Similar to 'Kent Belle' but shorter and more branching.
A great choice for a sunny border, the Bellflower bears dark violet blue bells downward facing bells on 18-20" stems.A hybrid of C. punctata, 'Sarastro' tends to clump rather than spread which is good news if you are not in need a ground cover. Prefers a neutral soil, good drainage, with supplemental watering when necessary.
This selection of Bellflower has a compact habit and a longer blooming season than most. Works well in a container or a perennial bed. Growth Rate medium
Rated 5 stars in trials, this hybrid of C. punctata and C. trachelium combines the best of both with a profusion of large dangling blooms plus strong stems, non spreading habit and great winter hardiness. The violet purple flowers really “pop” when grown with chartreuse foliage plants, flowering from early to late summer. Deadhead for neatness.
It's hard to imagine how on earth 'Kent Bells' could be improved upon but that's exactly what happened when this first-rate Campanula punctata and trachelium hybrid was introduced. Not as tall, more compact and slow to spread are all good reasons why 'Sarastro' should be invited into your garden, but then add glistening 2 in. dark violet-blue bells and it becomes simply indispensable. Named for the Austrian nursery where it originated, this exceptional Bellflower boasts sturdy, 20 in. spikes laden with floral pendants that don't need staking, and look downright gorgeous alongside yellow flowering Centaurea ruthenica.
Very impressive, laden with 3" long, dark purple-violet bells. Similar to 'Kent Bell', but much slower spreading. Re-blooms if cut back after first flush of flowers.
