Milky Way Kousa Dogwood is one of the most popular cultivars of dogwood on the market. The pointed, milky white flowers of the Milky Way dogwood bloom profusely in the spring followed by red berry-like fruits that attract birds. Foliage turns a reddish-purple color in the fall. This variety is actually a group of similar white flowering C. kousas. Wayside Gardens of Mentor, OH back in the 30’s named grafts they took from several plants C. kousa ‘Milky Way’. Whatever this plant is a good standard heavy blooming C. kousa. Great fall foliage and as the tree matures it gets a beautiful flaking bark.
