Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Small clumps of pretty, evergreen, rounded leaves on this Primula relative are pretty in the rock garden! Fringed lavender blue flaring bells on short stems above the foliage in spring. Happiest in moist, well drained, rich soil in bright shade.
One of my absolute favorites growing up, seeing them on our hikes in the Alps. They often can be spotted blooming right on the edge of where the snow has melted away, hence the common name. This not so obvious primrose relative has delicate, heavily fringed violet bells. The dark green leaves are round, shiny and leathery. Does best in well drained but moist soils, cool sun to half shade.
pale blue, 1/2" long flowers, kidney-shaped leaves, grows to 5".
