A shrubby vine to about 4 ft tall that's laden with delicate purple-blue bells of flowers from mid-spring until frost. The foliage and stems could be damaged at about 20F, but the plant will recover from 15F or lower. For a protected spot in the Portland garden, or makes an excellent container plant. Blooms on new wood. Bright shade to part sun.
A strange Indo-Australian plant in the Pittosporacaea, nearly monotypic there being only one other species, heterophylla is a somewhat twining shrub that grows to 5' or so and bears terminal cymes of blue flowers, definitely tender, but a cool tub specimen for the deck.
Forms a loose, spreading shrub 2-3' across or, if given support, climbs to 6-8'. Light and delicate foliage is narrow, glossy green to 2" long. Brilliant purple-blue flowers appear through most of summer. Guard against snails and slugs. Western Australia.
Creeping groundcover, or climbing shrub that can reach up to 6 feet when supported. Bright blue bell-shaped flowers bloom in the summer. Hardy to 25°F.
