Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Sempervivum tectorum 'Emerald Empress' is an historic garden plant with succulent foliage. It will form rosettes of rich green to blue-green leaves with red to purple margins. Displays purple, star-like flowers. Hens & Chicks grow best in well-drained, gravelly soil that is not wet in winter. They are drought tolerant, requiring little water once established.
Rosettes of emerald green foliage tipped with burgundy take on deeper red tones with cool temperatures. This selection freely produces many offsets and can carpet an area given time. Sempervivum like lean soil and dry conditions, and are great plants to use in crevices, containers and vertical gardens, as well as rockeries.
This selection has loose medium-sized rosettes of bright green leaves.
Brightly colored hybrid alpine groundcover succulent.
