Sedum nussbaumerianum is an evergreen groundcover cactus / succulent with bronze and gold foliage. In spring and summer white flowers emerge. Attracts bees and beneficial insects making it an excellent addition to pollinator gardens. Grows well with sun - mostly sun and occasional - low water. Drought tolerant once established. Flaunt your color-contrast creativity with the unique coppery-orange-gold foliage of this exciting, EASY to grow succulent. Compact, trailing and ground-covering “Coppertone Stonecrop” grows to only 8” tall, but spreads densely to 2’-3’ across, making it a great choice for a filler or front of bed edger, especially when combined with other colorful trailers like ruby leaved Sedum ‘Voodoo’. Nice in combo containers and hanging baskets, too. Brightest color comes from growing in full sun. Slightly scented white flower clusters appear in Spring. Do provide well-drained soil. You can cut it back anytime to refresh, or limit its size. An annual side-dress of compost keeps it looking perfect for many years. Hardy to 28° F!
Tender. Orange & green foliage turns coppery red.
Also called copperstone stonecrop, this sedum is low growing, to only 8" tall x 2-3 ft wide, with 1" pointed, succulent leaves, green with rosy bronze tints. Flowers are fragrant, appearing in white umbels in late winter to spring. Likes full sun in well-drained soil with occasional summer water and fertilizer. Does well in coastal areas. Frost hardy in mid to upper USDA zone 9. In colder areas, a good container sedum or houseplant that trails willingly over edges.
