Nursery contributed plant descriptions

From high mountains in Japan, this rare (even in Japan) and beautiful 20-60' maple has 3-parted leaves which turn a glorious orange-flame in fall. S-PSh/M
With its trifoliate leaves, it is similar to Acer griseum. What it lacks in bark appeal it makes up for in muted red, yellow, and even pink and purple autumn foliage. Very rare in cultivation.
Hilliers says this is the same as Acer maximowiczianum (I can see the name change) and says it is a beautiful small to medium tree with trifoliate leaves and good orange fall color. I hope this makes you order it as nobody else has. Zone 5.
Hardy trifoliate maple similar to Acer griseum but doesn't have peeling bark. Bark is soft gray and fall color is brillian orange, red, and yellow.
