Tender.Tight green rosettes with vivid red edges.
IMO the finest Echeveria agavoides section in the trade. 'Ebony' exhibits the greatest contrast in the coloration of any of the current cultivars. A tough plant that prefers a filtered light location in warm inland gardens or more exposed locations closer to the coast. The green fleshy leaves will take on a deeper and redder color with stress while the already distinctive edges darken to near black. Expect a mature size of around 10-12" with some pups in the following years. Hardy to at least 26 °F.
'Ebony' is a dramatic form of Echeveria agavoides which grows as a large, sturdy rosette of long, pointed, apple green leaves whose tips are dipped in shades of red, burgundy and black. This cultivar was originally discovered near Coahuila, Mexico in 2000 and has been sought-after in horticulture ever since.
Stemless rosettes to 8"; dark green leaves with deep red tips, yellow or red flowers. Hardy to 20 °F.
