Nursery contributed plant descriptions

This very beautiful tree Acacia from Australia reaches 40' tall and as much as 20' in width. It has a lovely oval shaped crown and soft creamy-yellow puffball flowers appear in winter/spring. This is a very durable and dependable tree for screening and erosion control, it does however, have very aggressive roots and isn't suitable for planting near sidewalks or foundations. The 2-4" linear dark-green leaves on older trees are really the flat leaved stalks of its lacy juvenile foliage. The heartwood features dark chocolate-brown rings and the quality wood is used for furniture, kegs, boats, instruments and for inlays. S/M-D
