Tall, fast growing shrubby salvia - 3 to 5 ft tall + wide - white and purple bicolor flowers over a long period beginning in late summer until frost. Happy in full to part sun with occasional summer water. cold hardy to 20-25 F. USDA zone 8b
Like a well planned composition, this Salvia blends white fuzzy flowers, blushed with the palest of pinks and predominate purple calyxes against a graceful foil of textured grayish green foliage. Given to us by David Salmon of High Country Gardens, we planted it in front of Cotinus 'Grace', whose leaves repeat the deep color of 'Santa Barbara's calyxes.
A small, evergreen, shrubby perennial. Glossy, dark green, lance shaped leaves on square, woody stems. All year round, wands of pendant, white flowers covered in velvety, cerise hairs, are freely produced. Well drained soil. Feed well.Cut back hard, as necessary, while the weather is warm.A truly fantastic plant, probably the best new Salvia in years.

Strong, upright cultivar of uncertain origin but clearly with a bit of Salvia leucantha in its vague past. Stiff, curving stems rise to 4' with textured green leaves that produce long spikes of flowers summer to fall. Flowers are a white-lavender with a wooly violet calyx. Full sun or part shade and moderate water. Virtually ever-blooming on the Central Coast. Hardy to 25F. Garden origin.
An elegant distinguished looking salvia with deep green leaves and long wands of pink flushed white flowers emerging from maroon tinged calyxes. Blooming late summer thru fall. Hardy to 25 degrees, growing 4-5' tall. Grown as a annual in northern areas, making a great container plant. Likes sun to part sun.
This Salvia is an offspring of S. leucantha and ?, (we don't know). We find it a delightful new Salvia for mid-late summer, with it's fuzzy white tinged-purple flowers. The 3' stems arch above attractive dark green textured leaves.
Given to us by one of our favorites. Maryann Byhres who grows this successfully and perennially in her garden at Manchester near Port Orchard. Spikes of white flowers whispered in pink with purple calyces are so good with the textural gray green leaves. Good drainage.
