Arctostaphylos pajaroensis is a broadleaf evergreen shrub with green foliage. In spring and winter white flowers emerge followed by red fruit. Attracts bees, birds and hummingbirds making it an excellent addition to pollinator gardens. Grows well with sun - mostly sun and occasional - low water. Drought tolerant once established. Prefers to be dry in summer. Does well in acidic, average, gritty, lean, rocky and well-drained soil. A good option if you're seeking something heat tolerant and verticillium wilt resistant.

This manzanita is a true rock star in the plant world, and has gotten major horticultural attention in recent years due to it's attractive flowers and variable foliage. Flowers color ranges from electric pink to pure white, and the foliage can range from slate blue to gray-green to dark green. Considered medium sized, this evergreen shrub can reach between 5-9ft with a wider spread. This type of manzanita does not do well with heavy clay. Endemic to California It is included in the CNPS Inventory of Rare and Endangered Plants on list 1B.1 No Historical Uses found. Found in sandstone outcrops, chaparral. Communitites located in Chaparral Above 2500'.
