Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Creeping Gunnera, or Devil’s Strawberry, is a miniature groundcover version of the other infamous, and enormous, species in the Gunnera genus. Native to Patagonia in Chile and Argentina, Creeping Gunnera makes a great cover for shady to full sun areas. Growing to just eight inches tall, Creeping Gunnera is deciduous, dying to the ground during the winter months by storing energy in underground rhizomes. This is a hard to find plant rarely available for sale in the nursery trade. Cold hardy to zone 7 and above, or to 0 degrees Fahrenheit.
A charming, diminuitive groundcover with round, pleated, glossy leaves that you never would have thought could be a Gunnera. Great for shade and moist soils.
Blooms: summer, unusual cone like/ small round, glossy leaves, semievergreen groundcover Zone 7-9. 4"-8", South America, part shade-sun, moist, well drained
Emerald green ground cover 3" tall, with 3" wide glossy, textured leaves…creates a spreading mat in consistently moist, humus rich, slightly acidic soils. Pondside carpet…dryness is the limiting factor. Part shade…takes sun if wet. If you are lucky enough to have both sexes, little spikes of green flowers in summer give rise to glossy orange fruits in fall
A diminutive relative to the more familar Jurassic Gunnera. This has a creeping habit making a low dense groundcover with rounded leaves. Herbaceous, the new leaves emerge in late March to April. It does flower in the most insignificant manner. Loves a rich moist soil - mulch if bitter cold.
