Thick, clumping, upright stems are sheathed in long wavy-edged green foliage. Wispy, creamy-yellow orchid-like flowers rise on short scapes out of the tops of the stems. Unique and very pretty. Speaking from experience: this plant is late to break dormancy so try not to put a shovel through it. Luckily my plant survived its accidental division!

A true Ginger relative, this is a vigorous and hardy hybrid between R. auriculata and R. cautleyoides and is a wonderful fusing of all that is good in both parents unlike me who got the short round gene. Stou tanned foliage with large variably purple streaked flowers in shades of cream.
