A neat and tidy little evergreen ground cover for the woodland, 6” tall stems with dark green trifoliate leaves, spread to a near perfect circle 12” wide. White flowers flutter over the top in spring. Dense, polite, easy! Prefers rich moist soil but takes dry shade, deer and critter resistant, dainty...
One of our favorite small-scale ground covers, first given to us by Jane Platt. To only about 4" in height by 18" wide, the evergreen, fine textured leaves support (winter through spring) delicate white flowers. Slowly spreading, in the light woodland or in container. Excellent for holding soil. Does not re-seed, we promise. Cold hardy to USDA Zone 6, if not colder.
Leaves in threes are dark green and evergreen, forming an attractive mound with clusters of frilly-looking white flowers hovering above in spring. This is an easy and adaptable plant, and doesn't even mind sandy or clay soil. After it's established it's a good dry shade plant suitable beneath trees. 6" T x 1' W Minimum temperature: -20°F
A really good restrained and refined evergreen groundcover with substantial dark green dense leaves which are the perfect foil for the short sprays of the purest white flowers in early summer. We've a nice patch in our old shade garden under one of big leaf Rhododendrons.
