Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Beautiful variegated foliage all season and intense cobalt blue flowers in mid-late spring. This choice variegated Ajuga does not spread, instead slowly forms tidy clumps 10-12" across and 12-15 "tall. Grow in partial shade in soil with good drainage but with ample moisture during the growing season..
Pretty fetching! Cream and light green incised leaves form the best backdrop for the inky-blue upright and open spikes in spring. NOT a spreader!; this clumper grows to 12 inches; a fine example of how related plants don't all share their least desired traits and should always be reconsidered. Of course, sometimes a spreader fills the bill! But, again, this IS a clumper, and one that happens to like bright shade, dappled shade, or light shade. Selection from the garden of Duane West. Minimum temperature: 0°F
Hard to believe that this is an Ajuga but it is true. From the garden of Duane West comes this choice selection with fantastic foliage and very good dark blue flowers. Not a spreader - this makes a clump with 16" tall stems. Challenges all of your comfy notions about Ajuga but in a good way.
