Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Zn 5. Pale rose flowers. Green foliage.
Dainty perennial with quantities of pale rose flowers produced over a long period in early to mid spring, and green, blushed pink foliage. A later, second flush of foliage rises slightly higher. Fantastic as a ground cover or singular specimen in slightly shaded sites and any well-drained soil.
'Roseum' has lovely lilac-pink flowers and bronze-tinged foliage in spring and fall. This hybrid is thought to have happened in the wild between E. diphyllum and E. grandiflorum. Epimediums are among the easiest perennials to grow. They thrive in medium to heavy shade, and when established, are highly drought tolerant. They can be used as effective groundcovers or shade garden accents. They are deer resistant and are seldom bothered by voles or other critters.
Documented in a 1863 Parisian herbarium, this ladylike Epimedium premiers fleurs d'un rose clair. Sprays of soft lilac-pink, narcissus-like flowers dangle from stiff, needle-thin reddish stems. Fashioning an attractive bushy mound, the pointed ovate leaflets first emerge with warm auburn hues and green-up as spring progresses.
The less common pink flowered form of this normally white species. This is one of the deciduous species so don't go treating like one of the ironclad Baltic evergreen species which give camels a run for their money. This likes a reasonably moist soil. Small pink flowers in profusion during spring.
