Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Very interesting plant, this visitor from Japan. The flowers take on a look that can be described as almost porcelain like on very tall (12"- 24") wiry stems. They're pendulous with a very unique round shape in the center. Foliage holds up well all year. Flowering is in late Summer to early Autumn over a very long period.
A rarely grown beauty, bearing large waxy flowers, elegant and refined. The leaves look like those of anemones, and the flowers like those of columbines but without the spurs. Overall easy to grow if a few basic things are met: A well drained, moist soil and a shady, cool spot. They don't like dry and especially not dry air. They don't die from it, but the leaves get scorched and then look unsightly.
This intriguing and delicate woodland plant has attractive, divided, ferny foliage with flowers held on thin stems to a height of one to two feet. Each flower is comprised of three outer, waxy, lilac sepals and up to 10 inner violet petals making a rounded cup-shape. Prefers even moisture and good drainage. A woodland setting or shade border would be perfect.
A refined shade plant that is not out of place in the most snooty plant connoisseur's garden. Leaves evoking Anemone and pendant flowers combining pastels and lavenders in an understated parasol of exquisite design and dimension. A plant wasted on the masses. Please enjoy.
