Iris graminea is a broadleaf evergreen perennial bulb / corm / tuber with green foliage. In spring lavender and purple flowers emerge. Features grassy texture. Grows well with sun - mostly sun and even moisture - regular water. Does well in acidic, alkaline, gritty and well-drained soil. A good option if you're seeking something verticillium wilt resistant.

Bright red/purple flowers held barely above the foliage. About 15" tall overall. Sometimes called grass leaved iris which is a very good description. Zones 5-8. Full sun to part shade. Tolerates dry conditions better than some irises and may like a sandy soil. Fragrant.
