Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Bright and showy pink flowers grace this Canadian selection of the popular beebalm or bergamot. Very resistant to mildew and blooms over a long period from July until September, several weeks longer than many other varieties. Monarda is native to eastern North America, is easy to grow and multiplies quickly. The flowers' sweet nectar attracts scores of hummingbirds, butterflies and bees to the garden. The aromatic foliage smells like mint when crushed and is often used to flavour teas. Photo courtesy of Walters Gardens.

Shiny yellow-green leaves contrast well with the pink flowers of this perennial selected also for its resistance to powdery mildew ; rust... Marshal was delighted ; so are we. Sun/Med
Been scared of Bee Balm because it gets too tall? Well feel guilty no longer about not looking out for the welfare of all the little nectar feeders in your nieghborhood as this only gets 2' tall and blooms profusely with light pink flowers from midsummer into fall. Good moist soil is best.
