Nursery contributed plant descriptions

"One of the prettiest willows for waterside planting" (Hillier); hoary gray leaves which resemble elongated rosemary turn green above, white below and densely clothe the reddish stems of this large shrub. S/M-W
This willow has the narrowest leaves imaginable. The deep green leaves will be ¼”x4”. This plant will make a small tree in time. We however prune our plant hard every spring so it will get 6-8’.
A beautiful small Willow with a dense, upright form sporting slender, 1-2" catkins that appear with the lovely, unique foliage. Emerges spring green, then matures to 8" long leaves, green on top, white-hairy underneath and finish their display yellow in Fall.

a.k.a. Salix rosemarinifolia. Olive leaf of Rosemary Willow is a great hardy shrub with year round interest. The narrow linear dark grey green leaves do resemble rosemary, adding a fine texture to the landscape. Winter interest comes from the dense habit of the purple brown twigs. Small slender catkins in early spring. Plants can be sheared in the same manner as boxwood. Grow in moist to average soil. Height and spread if not cut back can reach 10-12'.
A graceful Willow from SE France and Italy often referred to as the Rosemary Willow. The narrow leaves are bright silver white underneath which contrast nicely with the burnished mahogany stems on the new growth, This can be trained to a small tree or coppiced for a dense bush.
