Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Don't mess with Texas Spoon! This plant is called so because the leaf bases are shaped like spoons. Basically similar to D. wheeleri, and just as huge, but with green leaves, this is one of the hardiest of the Dasylirion species to cold. It is the only Dasylirion species with inward-pointing teeth: don't stick your hand into the crown, or removing it may be painful! This collection from exceptionally large, robust plants near Kent, Texas should be hardy to at least -10 °F. DS.
