Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Who needs a real panax, when you can have a Pseudopanax? Another exciting broadleaf evergreen from Chile, this plant has awesome (though not large) palmately compound leaves. As the plant approaches its mature height of 10' or more, paniculate inflorescences of white flowers may eventually appear. In the wild it is said to grow along watercourses and in partial shade, but for us it has been very adaptable and easy to grow in a variety of garden settings, including full sun as long as extreme drought is avoided. It seems hardy to around 5 - 10 °F and is anything but a pain in the ax.
