Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Pure white and often double, the 1-2" autumn flowers of this very fine shrub/tree are perfectly framed by its glossy deep-green foliage; selected in Ireland from a hybrid of two S. American beauties. S-PSh/M
Wonderful, late-summer flowering shrub - tall, multi-stemmed, to 20' in time. Dense and vigorous, with dark, leathery leaves, somewhat wavy on the edges, and large white, fragrant flowers in late August-September when little else is showy. Full to part sun and normal water. Can take somewhat heavy soils. Frost hardy to USDA zone 7. Cunoniaceae
This plant is very similar to the well known 'Nymansay', the main difference being its leaves, which tend to be more frequently simple rather than compound. It, too, is a very valuable broadleaf evergreen for the garden, putting on a stunning show of white flowers in late summer. It may reach tree-like proportions over time, and can be considered moderately drought tolerant in the Northwest, but responding to irrigation with faster growth. Hardy to 10 °F.
