Nursery contributed plant descriptions

A most attractive member of the Poorinda hybrid group, this one has sulfur yellow flowers in profusion. However, the best feature in my opinion is the unique, round-ended leaves, in contrast to the pointy tips typical of Grevillea leaves. Given that the parents of this plant are G. alpina x G. victoriae, one would expect it to be quite cold-hardy, to at least 10 - 15 °F. I have found this plant to be less hardy than expected thus far, but that may be my fault since both times I have planted it out in the fall I have had the misfortune of destructive early hard frosts around October 30. So while the verdict on hardiness is still out, it is still worth any effort in a sheltered garden.
