Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Large and bold, winter flowering, evergreen shrub to small tree, to 10 ft or so, and nearly as wide. Leaves are long and narrow, a nice texture with the cheerful, spidery winter flowers of orange-red. Easy in a full sun garden and well-drained soil with little to no supplemental summer water once established. As with all proteas, beware of any fertilizer containing phosphorous. Frost hardy to USDA zone 8.
A large, rounded shrub to 14' tall with an equal spread, this is another strong cultivar for California gardens. The dark green, deeply-lobed, oblong leaves sometimes bear small teeth along the margins, and give way in winter and spring to spidery clusters of bright orange-red flowers.
Named by Grevillea hybridizer Leo Hodge after his daughter, this has long been one of the most popular Grevilleas for its versatility, hardiness, and long bloom period (It blooms continuously from about September through July most years in my garden). Reaching 10' or more by 15' wide, it responds well to pruning to keep it more compact. The leaves are narrow, green above and grey beneath. Red-orange flowers appear at the branch tips and along the branches in abundance, and never fail to attract hummingbirds. Hardy to 5 °F.
