Olearia x haastii is a broadleaf evergreen shrub with green foliage. In summer white flowers emerge. Attracts bees, birds and butterflies making it an excellent addition to pollinator gardens. Drought tolerant once established. Does well in alkaline and well-drained soil. A good option if you're seeking something heat tolerant, seaside / salt tolerant and wind tolerant.

The hardiest Olearia undamaged at 5 °F. Dapper evergreen with a pleasing tan indumentum under each leaf. The foliage is obscured in summer by a clusters of small white FRAGRANT daisies. Salt spray, and reputedly bastard deer resistant. Good drainage and takes dry when established.
This natural Olearia hybrid comes to us from the area of Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaast Pass in New Zealand's Southern Alps. Forming an irregular, rounded shrub to about 4' high and slightly wider, it haas rather small green leaves under 1” long, with white undersides. Its profuse show of small white flowers in mid to late summer makes the plant look like a white cloud against a black backdrop. It's moderately drought tolerant, thriving in full sun or just a little shade. It haasta be one of the nicest Olearias in cultivation. Hardy to at least 5 °F. Evergreen. O. x haastii is one of the toughest all around species to drought, heat, cold, and other conditions.
