Nursery contributed plant descriptions

This attractive tree has a rather dense crown of glossy green leaves, and very light colored, fibrous bark.  Growing at a rate of about 4 - 6' per year, it can eventually reach a height of 60' or more in gardens. Though very rare in US cultivation, I have had it for a few years: it will thrive on a variety of soils, provided drainage is adequate, and should tolerate hot climates and dry conditions well. One of the hardiest stringybarks to cold, it ought to endure temperatures down to 5 °F once established.
