Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Can such a tropical looking eucalyptus really grow in the Pacific Northwest? The answer would seem to be yes! This vigorous-growing eucalypt with its 30-40' of smooth white trunk topped with a picturesque canopy of pendulous, shimmering leaves (total height 60-100') is one of the most sought after hardy eucalypts. The round juvenile leaves are also nice. While the canopy is not quite as open as the tropical E. citriodora, the smooth, blindingly white bark makes this the ideal eucalypt for that really tropical look. Native throughout the highlands of Australia, it needs well drained soil and is drought tolerant. Hardy to about 5 °F.
